Understanding the 4Cs

The Language of Diamonds — Every diamond evaluated at IDT is measured with absolute precision.

Carat

Carat defines weight — not visual size. One carat equals 200 milligrams, but two diamonds of the same carat may appear entirely different depending on cut, depth, and shape. At IDT, carat measurements are performed on micro-calibrated scales for flawless accuracy.

Cut

Cut determines how brilliantly a diamond comes alive. A masterful cut unlocks light — creating sparkle, fire, and scintillation. IDT evaluates proportions, symmetry, angles, and polish to assess true optical performance.

Colour

The most treasured diamonds are colourless, graded from D to Z. IDT assesses colour under controlled lighting and neutral environments to ensure global consistency. A colourless diamond (D–F) offers unmatched purity and sophistication.

Clarity

Clarity reflects a diamond's internal world — its inclusions and surface features. Using advanced microscopy, IDT creates a precision clarity map that serves as a diamond's natural fingerprint.

Jewellery Care

Fine jewellery is crafted to last generations. With mindful care, its beauty remains timeless.

Do's
  • Wear jewellery after applying perfumes and cosmetics
  • Wipe each piece gently after use to remove oils and residue
  • Store pieces individually in soft, fabric-lined boxes
Don'ts
  • Avoid wearing jewellery during workouts, swimming, or household chores
  • Keep jewellery away from chlorine and harsh cleaning agents
  • Do not expose pearls or delicate gems to ultrasonic cleaners
Care Tips
  • Clean diamonds with warm, soapy water and a soft brush
  • Have prongs and settings checked yearly for security
  • Store certificates and reports safely — they protect long-term value
  • Consider periodic re-polishing and re-plating for daily-wear pieces

Lab-Grown Diamonds

Real Diamonds. Modern Science. Complete Transparency.

Lab-grown diamonds possess the same chemical, physical, and optical properties as natural diamonds. At IDT, every lab-grown diamond undergoes advanced spectroscopic verification to confirm growth origin.

HPHT (High Pressure, High Temperature)

Replicates the intense forces inside the Earth, transforming carbon into a diamond crystal around a seed.

CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition)

Uses a carbon-rich plasma chamber to grow ultra-pure diamond layer by layer.

IDT discloses growth method and any post-growth treatments, ensuring full transparency.
